Step-by-step instructions to get up and running.
Get Started
Download and install FlipBlip CleanGear on Windows, or install the APK on Android (allow installation from unknown sources when prompted).
Enter your license key on first launch and tap Unlock CleanGear.
Complete your Profile — add your business name, home base address, phone, and email. This information appears on your quotes and invoices.
Upload your logo — host it for free at PostImages.org, copy the direct link, and paste it into the Logo url field on your Profile.
Set your brand color and PDF defaults on the Templates sub-tab.
Set Up Your Booking Page (Optional but recommended)
Create a free account at Cal.com.
Go to Settings → Developer → API Keys → Personal and generate a new key.
Paste the key into the Cal.com API Key field on your Profile tab and save.
Go to the Schedule tab → Availability → create your booking types (e.g. “Initial Walkthrough / Estimate”).
Configure your booking questions — add the questions you want clients to answer when they book (cleaning type, bedrooms, bathrooms, address, etc.).
Share your booking link with clients or embed it on your website. New bookings automatically appear as leads in your app.
Set Up Your QR Code
Go to Schedule → Availability → scroll down to the QR Code Generator.
Select your booking link or enter a custom URL.
Choose your QR variant (Standard, Branded, or Plain).
Tap Export QR Code to save or share it.
Tap Save to My QR Codes to store it for reuse on future invoices.
Build Your Library
Go to Library → Quick Start to browse cleaning-specific items pre-loaded for your cleaning business.
Tap items to add them to your personal library.
Go to Library → Library Items to view, search, and edit your saved items.
Use Tag 1 for cleaning category (e.g. Standard, Deep, Move-In) and Tag 2 for subcategory to organize your library.
Go to Library → Library Creator to add custom items not in the Quick Start.
Build Your First Quick Quote Package
Go to Library → Packages → Build Package.
Name your package and choose 2 or 3 tiers (e.g. Standard, Premium, Ultimate).
Add line items to each tier from your library or manually.
Check “Highlight middle tier as recommended” if you want one tier to stand out.
Save — your package is now available when quoting jobs.
Using Field Notes
Field Notes uses a simple shorthand format. When you get back from a job, open Field Capture → Field Notes → Notepad and write your notes using these labels:
Tap Attach to Job and select the job — each section routes to the right field automatically.
Tip: use Google Lens on your phone to capture handwritten notes, then paste the result into the Parse tab.
Bring Your Own Keys (BYOK)
CleanGear uses free third-party services for maps, weather, and receipt scanning. Each requires a free account and API key entered in your Profile tab.
LocationIQ — Maps and geocoding
Go to locationiq.com and create a free account.
Go to your dashboard, click Access Tokens, then click View Token to reveal your key.
Copy the token and paste it into the LocationIQ Key field on your Profile tab.
Free tier: 5,000 requests/day — more than enough for a solo contractor.
WeatherAPI.com — Job site weather forecasts
Go to weatherapi.com and create a free account.
Your API key is shown at the top of the dashboard on the first option under API.
Copy it and paste it into the WeatherAPI Key field on your Profile tab.
Free tier: 1,000,000 requests/month.
OCR.space — Receipt scanning
Go to ocr.space and register for a free API key.
Your key will be emailed to you — check your inbox.
Paste it into the OCR.space Key field on your Profile tab.
Free tier: 25,000 scans/month.
Cal.com — Online booking (optional)
Already covered in the Set Up Your Booking Page section above.
Back Up Your Data
Go to Profile → Data Backup → Export All Data to save a complete backup of your database and photos.
Store the backup file somewhere safe (Google Drive, email to yourself, etc.).
To move data to a new device, export on the old device and import on the new one using Import / Restore Data.
Use Export New Changes for regular incremental backups after your first full backup.
